Believe it or not, I once won an award, or perhaps a kind of notoriety š. I made it into Internet Magazine's list of people "shaping the Net" in 2000.
Ā
I was a company man, so it's never been something I've ever banged on about. But, if your company wins an award, I recommend you make the most of it.
Ā
Awards arenāt easy to win and heaven knows that every week has its challenges, so celebrate while you have the chance and include everyone in the company.
Ā
Some benefits last forever. You are now an award-winning company and that will never change. Thereās probably a statute of limitations, but itās much longer than you think.
Ā
Tell everyone about it. Add it to all your media profiles and stick it on your website. Not just in a blog post, but on every page, on the footer (or header if itās a big award).
Ā
Be prepared to become more popular. Awards capture peopleās attention and even open doors. Make the most of it while it lasts. Not all the attention will be welcome, but the pros outweigh the cons.
